Background: “Heather” is a memorial WOD for Heather Heyer, 32, who was killed on August 12, 2017 “when a car plowed into a crowd of counter-protesters gathered to oppose a “Unite the Right” rally of white nationalist and other right-wing groups [in Charlottesville, NC]. Nineteen others were injured in the incident.”
“Heather Heyer dedicated her life to standing up for those she felt were not being heard, her family and friends said. She died fighting for her beliefs and campaigning against hate.”
The workout was written by Noah Abbot, owner of CrossFit Lumos (Austin, TX, USA). We first found the workout posted by CrossFit South Brooklyn – where Noah formerly coached – along with a writeup from Noah about why he created the WOD in Heather’s name.
